Once you’ve installed the build a niche store software on your server and set up a secure password, the next step will be to set up your bans store. This is where you will tell it what niche you want to build for, enter your ebay affiliate tracking ID and configure your niche stores display.
There are a number of ways to set up your niche store to target Ebay niches. This gives you the opportunity to build unique, laser targeted websites.
- Select by Ebay categoriy numbers. (one or multiple)
- Pull in auctions by ebay keyword search
- Pull in auctions by seller
- Pull in auctions by geographical data
Set up your niche sites meta tags. You can change on individual categories and pages but this allows you to set a default to be used until you make those edits.
Set up your BANS website product display. This is another way to make your website unique. You can choose from a variety of display options, such as…
- Show the product image
- Show the auction title
- Show number of bids
- Show current bid amount
- Show remaining auction time
- Show Paypal image if accepted
Enter in your Ebay Partners Network Affiliate Id. This is the heart of the Build a Niche Store system and the mechanism through which you will earn commissions. Every time someone clicks through and buys something, you earn a commission. Every time a new user signs up and places a bid, you earn a commission. This section will also give you the option to cloak your links to it isn’t so obvious they are affiliate links.
More options for displaying auctions on your niche site. These options allow for further customization and will help you to create unique websites. I see so many people just use the default settings for everything and then wonder why they aren’t doing as well as they think they should.
Make it unique, make it unique, make it unique!
- Show anywhere from 1 auction to 100 auctions on each page
- Pull results in by targeted keywords or keyword phrases
- Show auctions or use a static main website page.
- Show only buy it now auctions
- Display ebay logo, on or off
- Optional link to display more auctions
- Option to open clicked auction links in a new browser window
- Option to allow sort menu to the top of your pages
- Options to limit auctions displayed by minimum and maximum price
Next you can set up your websites navigation. You can choose to have all your pages links displayed at all times or use a hierarchical system that when clicked, shows the sub-categories.
And, that’s about it!
I hope you can see how powerful this system is. By using all of the build in display options, you can create unique niche websites with relevant auctions displaying on your pages.
Using the “buy it now” feature combined with the minimun price amounts to show can really boost your profit potential. You’re not going to make tons of money selling $5 products while you can make a nice paycheck selling $2000 products, so choose those products wisely, build a unique niche website and you’re in business.

Thanks, Gail, great post! I got a little confused around the ‘how to count the cloaked links’ section but I think that was more due to the time (3am) than anything else. I have tried your methods again this morning though and they work perfectly.
I’m using it on an unindexed landing page, driving traffic via PPC, and promoting a clickbank product. So far so good…
Glad you were able to get it going! Your problem with understanding probably had less to do with it being 3am when you were reading and more to do with it being 3am when I wrote it.

I tried your cloak link for clickbank, and it worked perfectly on the first time. the same cloak link can be used for commission junction as well?. I looked at your cloak link generator, not sure I understood it well, to give it a try.

Glad you were able to use the clickbank code easily. I don’t use CJ much and haven’t tried to see if I could cloak the links. For the misc items I do promote, I use my own url shrinker. You can see it at https://wahguide.com/url , you are free to use that one if you like or you can install the script and use on your own site. You can download it at https://wahguide.com/freebies/url-shortner.zip , I also put a link to it in the freebies section. It’s easy to install and the readme file is included. If you have any problems with it, just let me know. On a side note, I think it would not be difficult to do Ebay links and I’ll look at that sometime soon.

hi nice post pretty useful I got this to work, although it would be nice to know how to also include .html extension on the end instead of just http://yoursite.com/amz/B0011ZCDKS. I’m sure this can be all done in .htaccess file just not sure I’m a little bit of a green horn lol!

It’s no problem to add the .html to the end.
Replace
RewriteRule ^(.*)
with
RewriteRule ^(.*)\.html
Then your link would look like
http://yoursite.com/amz/B0011ZCDKS.html
This works with clickbank as well. And you can change the html to any file extension you want. It is basically just ignored anyway.
