How to Find Profitable Niches for Your Squidoo Lenses Through Effective Keyword Research

Recently I wrote an article titled, Three Things You Should Be Doing at Squidoo Starting Today, however, I left out one part, probably the most important piece of the puzzle. There is one more thing you should be doing on Squidoo if you really want to start making money.

The article I wrote above was really about what to do to get more traffic and build your lens rating after you’ve set it up. The most important part is in the setting it up. Let me explain…

Squidoo itself will not send tons of traffic. Even if you get top placement in your category, the traffic is not overwhelming. To really get the full benefit of your lens, you need to take your time when choosing keywords and optimize your lens for them. This will really help for getting a front page listing on Google and having laser targeted traffic visit your lens.

Just like your adsense sites or other social networking marketing methods, you want to focus on long tailed keywords, keywords that receive a worthwhile amount of searches in the search engines but those that don’t have a lot of direct competition.

If you watched the video above, you’ve seen for yourself how to narrow down your keyword selections to those that should bring you the best organic search engine results and how to monetize these niche lenses by seeking out affiliate programs that offer related products.

There’s a lot of money to be made marketing this way as long as you don’t skimp on the keyword research.
